All we have to do is to select the text that we want, use theSmartLookup command and then we will see definitions, images, and other results from various online resources. How To Turn On Smart Lookup In Word

First of all, we must select the text that we want in order to use the SmartLookup command, and then select the Review tab and from the area of the ribbon named Insights, we select the command SmartLookup as shown in the image below.

Straight away at the right of the window, the Insights task pane appears with all the information associated with the text that we selected. In the Insights task pane, we can scroll up and down, in order to locate the information that we want.

The Insights task pane is separated in two tabs:

  • Explore: We use it, in order to explore the information associated with the selected text.
  • Define: We use it, in order to view the definition of the selected text.

How To Use Smart Lookup In Word

In the image below, on the Insights pane and on the Explorer tab I have scrolled down in order to view the rest of the information. If we click on the More command, our Explorer will open and display the rest of the information. We also notice images from Bing Search.

In the image below, on the Insights task pane, I have selected the Define tab where we notice the definition of the selected text, which in this case was the word Greece.

In the next image, I am using the Excel application, I selected the cell with the word NPV, and then from the Review tab and from the Insights area I selected the command SmartLookup. Straight away, the Insights task pane appears containing all the information associated with the NPV function.

In the next image, I am using the PowerPoint application, I selected the cell with the text Print A File With Tracked Revisions, and then from the Review tab and from the Insights area I selected the command SmartLookup. Straight away, the Insights task pane appears containing all the information associated with the selected text.

That is it! We have all the information that we need right in front us. All we have to do is to use the SmartLookup command and whatever we are looking for, will be presented straight away.
